Ustadha Sumayyah Siddique was born and raised in Manchester, UK. She studied at Jami’ah Al- Kauthar, a 6-year dar al-ulum for girls situated in Lancaster, UK. She has been teaching for the last two decades since graduating in 2002, including 18 years of experience teaching Tajweed. She founded a local women’s institute in her hometown and has taught primarily the higher books of hadith since 2005 in various madrasah settings. At Jami’ah al-Kauthar, along with teaching she also manages pastoral care. She has also taught maktab classes, and in an Islamic high school. At Siddeeqa Institute she teaches hadith to our final year (daurat al-hadith) students, and has also taught Tajweed.
Ustadha Bint Muhammad Idrees
Ustadha Bint Muhammad Idrees grew up in the UK. She studied the ‘Alima course at Jami’ah Uloom al-Qur’an in Leicester, UK. For the past decade, she has been teaching in the ‘Alima course at Jami’ah al-Rawdah and other institutes in London. She has experience teaching tailor-made Islamic studies and Seerah courses to various age groups. She currently teaches at a girls’ Islamic school and has also been teaching Arabic grammar and Tafsir Jalalayn at Siddeeqa Institute.
Ustadha Saira Abu Bakr
Ustadha Saira Abu Bakr (Ummal Fadl) studied the Sacred Sciences, including her fard ayn knowledge, primarily under Shaykh Salik bin Sidina (West Africa) since 2002. Some of the aqeedah texts she has studied include, `Aqeedah Tahāwiyyah, Jawharah and Ummal Barahin (Sanusiyah). In Maliki Fiqh she has studied Akhdari, Ibn `Ashir, Risalah, ‘Izziyah and the majority of Mukhtasar Khalil. She has also been taught texts on the Shama’il of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , Seerah, Hadith Terminology, Purification of the Heart, Rights of Parents, in Arabic and English at Zaytuna Institute, Hayward, California since 1997. In 2003 she traveled to Cairo, Egypt to study Arabic. In 2008 she completed the Seminary Program in Hayward, California under Imam Zaid Shakir۔ In 2010 she returned from Syria where she had spent two years furthering her studies in `Aqeedah, Fiqh, Arabic and Tajweed and where she attended classes taught by Shaykh Samer Nass, Ustadha Shaista Maqbool and others. She currently continues to teach fard ayn knowledge to children and adults in private and public settings, online and in-person. Ustadha Saira AbuBakr has received a B.S. in Biology (California State University at Stanislaus) and an M.S. in Genetic Counseling (Sarah Lawrence College, New York).
Ustadha Zainab Patel
Ustadha Zainab Patel was born and raised in London, UK and studied the traditional Dars-e-Nizami curriculum at Jami’ah al-Rawdah in London, UK. Thereafter, she studied Ifta at Whitethread Institute, UK. She has taught fiqh alongside other subjects in madrasahs in London and online for the last 7 years, and is currently also serving as Head Teacher at Jami’ah al-Rawdah. At Siddeeqa Institute she teaches Hanafi fiqh, and hadith to our senior students, including daurat al-hadith batch.
Ustadha Asiya Waza
Ustadha Asiya Waza was born and raised in London, UK. She pursued her ‘alimiyyah studies at Jami’ah al-Rawdah in London, UK, alongside her university studies in biomaterials. Since completing her Taharahstudies she has taught a variety of age groups ranging from children to adults in both ‘alimiyyah and general Islamic knowledge programs. Currently, she is studying in the Ifta Specialization Program at Whitethread Institute, and teaching maktab in the evenings. At Siddeeqa Institute, she has taught Usul al-Fiqh and Hadith Terminology.
Ustadha Kalpana Begum
Ustadha Kalpana begum was born and raised in London. She studied for the ‘Alimiyyah degree over a 6 year period- 3 years in Jami’ah al-Kauthar in Lancaster, and the remaining 3 years in Jami’ah al-Rawdah in London. After the completion of her ‘Alimiyyah studies, she started teaching in the ‘Alima program in various institutes of traditional Islamic learning, and also taught GCSE Arabic in secondary school. She has also taught in maktabs and has run numerous short courses on a variety of topics. At Siddeeqa Institute, Ustadha Kalpana has been teaching Hanafi Fiqh.
Ustadha Kulsoom Shayaan Essa
Ustadha Kulsoom Esa grew up in the USA and then moved to Pakistan with her family so she could formally acquire knowledge of the deen. She completed the ‘Alima course with an emphasis on the Arabic language, and has been teaching with Siddeeqa Institute since its inception. She specializes in Arabic grammar and also teaches Hanafi fiqh; she also teaches different subjects at al-Balagh Academy, UK
Ustadha Mahjabeen Umar graduated with a degree in Computer Science, and worked as a Graphic Designer and Web Interface Developer at a US-based software startup before moving on to freelance website development and graphic design projects. She has served as Professional Feature Writer for “Expert Parenting and Pregnancy”, a print magazine for mothers. She runs a small business devoted to bringing colorful and engaging tarbiyah products for Muslim children.
Ustadha Mahjabeen completed her ‘Ālima studies at Siddeeqa Institute, followed by courses in Islamic psychology-based counseling, holistic healing, and support group facilitation while completing Takhassus (specialization) in Tafsīr at Al-Balagh Academy, UK, and trainings and certification in embodied relational skills and somatic EMDR interventions. This unique blend of Islamic scholarship and therapeutic training enables her to offer a holistic approach to healing.
At Siddeeqa Institute, Ustadha Mahjabeen has been teaching Tafsir, Hadith and Seerah, and also works with our Women’s Wellness Center connecting the dots between teachings of Islam and their practical applications with specific focus on living a life of purpose, rebuilding relationships, mindful parenting, self-compassion and holistic wellness.
Ustadha Nassuha Ebrahim
Ustadha Nassuha Ebrahim completed her ‘Alima studies at Siddeeqa Institute and was among the top students in her batch. Thereafter, she completed the Sibawayh Intensive Arabic Program, the Advanced Islamic Jurisprudence Program, and the Detailed Fiqh of Menstruation Course from Whitethread Institute, UK. At Siddeeqa Institute she teaches Hanafi fiqh; she also teaches numerous subjects at al-Balagh Academy, UK.
Ustadha Ilhaam Sadeck
Ustadha Ilhaam Sadeck completed her hifz at Jami’at ul Qurra in Schaapkraal, South Africa. Thereafter she completed the four-year higher diploma (‘Alima) course at Dar-un-Na’im, Wynberg. She started teaching in 2018 and have since taught students both in madrasah and privately. Alongside she has continued to advance her own learning in fiqh and hadith as per the curriculum and teaching methodology of Dar al-Mustafa in Tarim. At Siddeeqa Institute she has taught Tajweed, Tafsir and Shafi’i fiqh.
Ustadha Dr. Tawhida Fazili
Ustadha Tawhida Fazili has two post-graduate degrees, one in maternal and child-care, and the other in microbiology, and has worked as a researcher and professor in the field of microbiology. She has done the ‘alima course from Siddeeqa Institute and has worked with children, teenagers, and women from all walks of life, mainly university students and working professionals, teaching them the deen, counselling them, and inspiring them to follow the shari’ah and sunnah. She has also worked as Head of Student Welfare in an Islamic school, where she was responsible for formulating and implementing tarbiyah plans for students, faculty, administrative staff, and parents, and advising the academic department on inculcating Islamic values into their curriculum and teaching methodology. At Siddeeqa Institute she has taught the subject of Sunnahs & Masnun Du’as to new students, and also works with our Women’s Wellness Center.
Ustadha Zainab bint Amran
Ustadha Zainab bint Amran completed her hifz at the age of 14 and later was granted ‘ijazah to teach the rewayah of hafs from two turuq: via Al-Shatibiyyah and via Tayyibah An-Nashr. She studied the matan of Hirz al-Amani wa Wajh al-Tahani by al-Shatibi and received ijazah in the seven qira’aat. She then studied the matan of al-Durratul Mudiyah and received ijazah in the remaining three qira’aat to complete the al-‘Asharah Al-Sughra. Ustadha began her ‘Alima studies informally with a teacher, and studied Arabic, fiqh, Tafsir and hadith, including memorization of the 40 hadith of Imam Nawawi (rah). She then joined Siddeeqa Institute and completed her ‘Alima studies here. She is trained as a pre-school nurse from the UK and has worked with young children in nursery and maktab settings, and has also trained maktab teachers. At Siddeeqa Institute she teaches Shafi’i fiqh and is also involved with our hifz program.
Ustadha Maliha Hasan
Ustadha Maliha Hasan is a graduate of the law program at Aligarh Muslim University, and worked for a while as a writer for an online web portal. Having studied Islamic law in a university setting, she then wanted to deepen her understanding of the shari’ah and undertook and completed the ‘Alima program at Siddeeqa Institute. She now teaches Arabic grammar at Siddeeqa Institute.
